Alice Macdonald, Ileana on the Shore, 2021 (framed)
Watercolour and acrylic on paper, 15 x 20cm
Alice Macdonald is an emerging, London-based artist whose diaristic paintings are informed by a broad range of sources spanning historical literature, classic films, myths, fairytales, memories, and friends and family painted from life.
Alice’s jewel-like works on paper form a core part of her practice, their smaller scale lending them an intense, voyeuristic quality. Lakes and oceans are recurring themes in Alice’s work and, as in this study, her subjects are often friends or family members.
Installation photograph by Juliet Murphy.
Purchased works are usually despatched within three working days.
