Alistair Gow, Palace of Art, 2025 (framed)
Etching, 32 x 35cm, edition 2/20
Alistair Gow is a Scottish printmaker based in Glasgow. His painterly limited edition etchings and monoprints - with their characteristically vibrant palette - are rooted in observational drawing, and a passion for the process of printmaking.
This framed etching is a smaller interpretation of the life-size 11 ton elephant sculpture by Kenny Hunter, situated near the Palace of Art, a sports club in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow. Upon closer inspection, the pop of light above the silhouetted animal’s head reveals a tiny seated figure, inspired by the artist’s daughter.
This work is framed in walnut behind anti-reflective / 70% UV resistant glass (number 1/20 pictured). Please note that this framed print will not be available until 5 July 2026.
