This unframed limited edition etching illustrates Alistair’s use of blank space within his imagery to convey a sense of awe. Often, he says, ‘the bare paper is the brightest area in the print’. In this work, trees are silhouetted against a dramatic dusk sky, in contrast to the illuminated blanks in the foreground. This work is a variable edition, which means that each print in the edition is slightly different.
