Bobbye Fermie, A Favourite Time of Mine, 2023
Watercolour and collage, 17 x 20cm (unframed)
Amsterdam-born artist Bobbye Fermieis renowned for her dreamlike works on paper that explore introspective female figures inhabiting imaginary spaces. Inspired by memories and photographs, her work is characterised by a limited palette which creates impact and lends each image a graphic quality.
Inspired by a window that the artist saw in a Dutch painting, this composition actually features two windows - one in the forground, intricately collaged, and the second behind, illuminated in watercolor. The viewer’s eye is drawn from one to the other; we almost do not notice the artist’s subject quietly absorbed in her task at hand.
Purchased works are usually despatched within three working days.
