Bobbye Fermie, Evening Glow, 2023
Water-based monotype, 36.5 x 26cm (unframed)
Amsterdam-born artist Bobbye Fermie is renowned for her dreamlike works on paper that explore introspective female figures inhabiting imaginary spaces. Inspired by memories and photographs, her work is characterised by a limited palette which creates impact and lends each image a graphic quality.
In early 2023 Bobbye began to explore printmaking using two very different techniques; woodcut and monotype. The result is her cohesive series of prints titled 'Tales of the Home', which Oliver Projects has been proud to launch exclusively online
Her instinctive choice of a limited palette in this series is significant. She says; ‘when I look at the red of the hands and faces of the figures, I notice their importance, trying to take up space, in contrast to their muted surroundings.’
Purchased works are usually despatched within three working days.
