Glazed ceramic, 12 x 16 x 10cm, edition of 5
Coco Crampton works in a variety of mediums connected to traditional crafts including ceramic, wool, and copper. Exploring historical and contemporary domestic forms and their functions, her minimalist, colourful reinterpretations – which often include elements of suspension or balance – are playful and reflective.
This limited edition sculpture has been hand-thrown using a stoneware clay. A gauge was used to enable the artist to produce similar forms, a process of repetition that she enjoyed. Each sculpture is glazed and painted by hand, and numbered on the inside.
This work has a partner piece also titled in tribute to the natural world - ‘River Charm’.
