Joseph Goody’s abstract imagery is inspired by – in his words – ‘literature, castle walls, parapets and ideas of organisation’. Meticulously composed, his works have historically explored geometric forms and layering with a softness that creates a sense of tension.
This unframed collage is a continuation of Joseph’s latest body of work recently shown in 'Shaping Time' an exhibition presented by Oliver Projects in collaboration with Sims Reed Gallery in September 2024. These new collages see the artist continuing to exploring new territory experimenting with surface texture as well as overlaying curved and geometric forms. ‘Alcove’ is a partner piece to ‘Winter Tide’, a collage which uses a similar palette. These works can be hung individually or together to form a diptych, once framed.
