Joseph Goody, Suspension, 2024 (framed)

Collage, 76 x 56cm

Joseph Goody’s abstract imagery is inspired by – in his words – ‘literature, castle walls, parapets and ideas of organisation’. Meticulously composed, his works have historically explored geometric forms and layering with a softness that creates a sense of tension.

This framed collage is a continuation of Joseph’s latest body of work recently shown in 'Shaping Time' an exhibition presented by Oliver Projects in collaboration with Sims Reed Gallery in September 2024. These new collages see the artist continuing to exploring new territory experimenting with surface texture as well as overlaying curved and geometric forms. This particular work’s palette of sky blue, tangerine and olive is evocative of a Mediterranean landscape, but as a composition, remains resolutely abstract. It is framed in a mahogany-stained ash behind anti-reflective, 70% UV resistant glass.
