Joseph Goody, Unravel, 2024
Collage, 76 x 56cm
Joseph Goody’s abstract imagery is inspired by – in his words – ‘literature, castle walls, parapets and ideas of organisation’. Meticulously composed, his works have historically explored geometric forms and layering with a softness that creates a sense of tension.
Recent works have become more complex, combining - in this case - drawn lines that playfully weave in and out of translucent and solid forms. The resulting composition presents the viewer with a puzzle of sorts, featuring windows of light as well as rusty-coloured, sharply defined edges.
