Joseph Goody’s abstract imagery is inspired by – in his words – ‘literature, castle walls, parapets and ideas of organisation’. Meticulously composed, his works have historically explored geometric forms and layering with a softness that creates a sense of tension.
These new collages see the artist continuing to exploring new territory experimenting with surface texture as well as overlaying curved and geometric forms. ‘Winter Tide’ is a partner piece to ‘Alcove’, a collage which uses a similar palette. These works can be hung individually or together to form a diptych, once framed.
