Oopsy Jones, Pocket Rocket (Or…The Pitfalls of Poor Expectation Management), 2026
Glazed ceramic, 38.5 x 18 x 18cm
Oopsy Jones is a self-taught contemporary artist whose impactful ceramic sculptures explore a range of subject matter spanning Greek mythology, medieval relics and Baywatch. Having been diagnosed with Bipolar Affective Disorder in 2015, he was urged to pursue creative forms of therapy; it was these therapeutic experiences which have formed the basis of his artistic practice.
Oopsy’s sculptures - which are both weighty and playful - combine deceptively childlike forms, text and mischievous humour to bring his psychotic episodes to life. This unique work was made for our group exhibition ‘Music From Out There’ (16 January - 14 February 2026) It is part of a series titled ‘Icarus's Intergalactic Gap Year Trip-tych’.
