Suzanne Moxhay’s complex images use archival or newly-taken photographs as their starting point. Combining a variety of low and high-tech techniques, her digital photomontages and etchings explore interior and exterior spaces that, in the artist’s words, ‘feel as though they have broken down and perhaps been re-claimed’.
Although the light source at the window draws the viewer’s gaze, the drama of this scene has been set in play from above, as the room slowly fills from an unseen water source, transforming its floor into an impressionistic-style pond of water lilies. This work is printed with a white border (please see installation image).
