Suzanne Moxhay, Palm (small), 2020

£425.00

Archival Pigment Print, edition of 25, 43 x 52cm

Suzanne Moxhay’s complex images use archival or newly-taken photographs as their starting point. Combining a variety of low and high-tech techniques, her digital photomontages and etchings explore interior and exterior spaces that, in the artist’s words, ‘feel as though they have broken down and perhaps been re-claimed’.

This complex composition includes several of Suzanne’s favourite motifs including an interior landscape mural and signs of nature encroaching on a grand, derelict space - the star of which is a large palm tree. The contrast between the tropical foliage and abandoned mattresses heightens the scene’s unsettling quality; a single perched bird, silhouetted by the bright light pouring in, reinforces the sense of stillness.

Purchased works are usually despatched within three working days.
